Levan Alexidze Tbilisi Academy of International Law becomes a tradition

 

Academician Levan Alexidze’s students laid the foundation for the Tbilisi Academy of International Law named after the honoured scientist, great Professor and statesman in order to continue his professional legacy, to advance teaching and research opportunities for future generations interested in International Law.

Within the framework of the First Edition of the Academy, the participants had the opportunity to discuss abundance of topical issues of International Law with leading specialists of International Law.

Different blocks of the Academy, along with the discussions on the theoretical issues of the development of International Law, were dedicated to the current issues for Georgia. Among those were: challenges related to the protection of human rights in the occupied territories, the need to fight against transnational and international crimes and the further advancement of the relevant institutional framework, the mechanisms and difficulties of enforcing the international legal framework for protection against discrimination, as well as challenges related to investor protection in developing economies.

Levan Alexidze Tbilisi Academy of International Law is becoming a tradition, and within the framework of subsequent editions, professional discussions will be devoted to multiple issues of relevance for Georgia.
